Does anybody have a part number or link to a good replacement for the Mercruiser Alpha One tilt/trim dash switch assembly? Mine is pretty ugly looking and not sure the switches will last at all. I am replacing the dash so it doesn't have to be the same in-dash form factor. I also have Boat Leveler trim tabs but those have replacement switches readily available.

Thanks....

Dashboard mounted trim switches are pretty old. Most are now thumb-operated toggle switches in the throttle handle. Much safer and more convenient.

You might replace your control with one of those with the built in trim switches.

Well, as it turns out the binnacle control I have does have a switch at the top of the handle that is center off and momentary in both directions. There is a three wire ribbon cable that comes out of the bottom of the controller for the switch (there is also a 2 wire ribbon cable for the neutral safety switch). My Alpha manual only has the 3 button Mercruiser controller wiring diagram. Does anybody have the wiring diagram for the single switch up/down with the 3 wires?

I have an old three button one somewhere and I don't have a separate trailer button. I can add a separate trailer button if needed. Just need the wiring diagram.

Ok, I think I have this figured out. The single button (3 position momentary-off-momentary) has power coming to it. The up direction connects power to the up solenoid and will lift the drive unit the circuit is interrupted by the Trim Limit switch. The down direction connects power to the down solenoid. To wire a Trailer Switch (2 position off-momentary), it will provide power to bypass the Trim Limit switch and apply power directly to the up solenoid. What stops the drive from coming up too far if the Trailer Switch is bypassing the Trim Limit switch?

I think my solution then is to connect the 3 wire Trim Switch in the binnacle handle to power, up solenoid and down solenoid. I need to add a Trailer Switch on the dash wired to bypass the Trim Limit switch. I will just make a 2 wire harness to run from the dash back to the Trim Pump for the trailer switch.
