anybody know where to get a replacement windshield for a 1998 crestilner sportfish. I have searched google with no results and called a local dealer with no results. so i am hoping one of good folks out there can point me in the right direction.
Also i need the whole frame not just the glass.

thanks

Re: replacement windshields

If it is just a piece of "straight" no curves safety glass, try your local glazier/glass shop.
They should be able to cut and install it for you.
(you can also get the green tinted glass if you can wait a little)

Re: replacement windshields

He needs the whole thing :) :(

OOPS,
to add if you can not find a wrecked boat to part out, try and track down the OEM/ MFG for you boats windshield, For example taylor made makes most all the pieces for sea ray (or did).
The vender may have the right extruded aluminum pieces you need to do a rebuild.

Re: replacement windshields

My father has a boat of very similar type (a 1998 Crestliner Pro 160) that recently needed a new windshield too. I can't remember the measurements, but his console was flat on the top. We ended up just getting a generic windshield from Cabelas and mounting it. Like I said I don't have the measurements handy so you'd have to measure yourself and choose the closest, but so long as your console top is flat it will probably work. Not quite as curvy and sleek as the original, but in his case the original was cracked up really bad, so this still looked better.

Re: replacement windshields

im sure that Iboats would like me to preface my reply by notifying you that they sell replacement windshields for many boats

I have a FourWInns horizon and a few years ago the garage roof at my NH home collapsed on my boat because of snowload, subsequently destroying my windshield.
Unfortunately my boat had a curved windshield which made it even more difficult to replace
i checked ebay, craigslsit,Great Lakes,Iboats called Four Winns called boating junk yards
nuttin

I contacted the original manufacturer of the windshield(Taylor Made) and after several reps telling me no problem I found out that the Indiana plant that originally made the curved glass and 3 pc frame had discontinued it after some sort of a malfunction w/the manufacturing process

I drove it w/o a windshield for a year while i searched and searched

the two largest manufacturers of boat windshields are Taylor Made and Waterbonnet
after no luck and endless promises i stopped calling TM and took a shot w/WB
WB staff was confident that thay could find a fix and in the end they did
I sent their engineer lots of pics/emails/more pics and In he made it work
I had to switch from a 3 pc windshield to a 5 pc (left wing/left corner/walk thru/right corner/right wing), It took the whole summer because it was such a peculiar request
It took myself and 2 buddies a whole day to install but we did it, tedious but certainly not hard
i would contact Waterbonnet in Bradenton FL (they have since been consumed by TM)
you want the Bradenton plant ,I dealt directly w/ a lady liason and their engineer
highly recommend, they did what they promised they'd do a rarity these days
1900 47th Terrace East, Bradenton, FL 34203. Tel: 941-782-0981 Fax: 941-749-5000 sales04@waterbonnet.com

it makes a huge difference if your windshield deck is curved, if you have a flat deck Im quite sure you have more options, either way at least call them and compare pricing
I think soup to nuts the replacement was 1800,considerably less than some of the 3500-4500 estimates i got from the yacht glass specialty companies in Miami.
oh and I have new left and right wings for a flat deck windshield(5 pc system)
and a template if you need them private message me

good luck,it was my mission annd i was so happy when i got it done
2 yrs later..two thumbs up with the quality and fit
