....if the throttle cabes are the same length they should work.

If not, if they are too short or too long, you could have trouble with cable adjustment.

The trim wire just snakes up the remote handle.

We need a little more info. Do the plugs match(as far as color) I think there were only two in the those years. What is the boat rated for and what is the condition of the boat are the big questions. Good luck

hi what do u mean by plugs??? the main harness i asume??? the boat is a 1978 surfmaster its in great shape,i cant find any info on but the larson made some of them thanks again for your help, just thinking of this as i can get a deal on a 115 for 800,instead of sinking money into the 70 i have i checked compression its 110 54 104 on the 70 ,it idels awsome but dies under load ,u think istsa piston or headgasket??? thanks again

You assume correct the big one under the cover. There should be an info plate some were in the boat. That give max hp and load. About the compression I would pull the head and have a look. With one that low the problem should be fairly obvious and if not you can rule out the head gasket they are cheep and you can get them from Iboats in a day or two. If you are unsure post some detailed pics. Good luck
