Some of the tape on my boat is not looking its nicest right now. How hard is it to replace this tape and how often does it look better when it is done?
I looked into this and one trick is getting the exact tape you need. Hope you have a newer boat, I can't find what I need (96 Lund Pro V}. The other is applying the pin stripeing, it's not an art, but it takes skills to get it right.
west marine sells the tape in various colors at about $16 a short roll. Walgreens sells sharpies in various colors for $1. Do the math, and do it when you don't have the shakes.
If you don't have a heat gun, I would pick one up jsut in case. Any time you're bending stick-on stuff, its good to heat it up to get it to "mold" right around the contours..
To remove decals, pinstriping, and graphics I used a heat gun , an un-nicked dull razorblade, and windex.....did my entire 20' Bayliner last weekend...took six hours.
If there is a sign shop in your area go in and talk to them about what you need.....where I live they double as pin stripers......afterall they make signs with graphics and letters why not....the place where I live can cut any custom decal you want and put it on the boat car trailer etc.....just a thought/avenune to check
