my front and rear bumper covers need replacing on my honda odyssey and i want to do it myself. i dont really know much about cars, and changing parts. how difficult of a job would this be? its a 1999 honda odyssey ex.
none of the hardware is broken just the bumper cover has a few holes from backing into a sign and boat hitch.

Easier then you think....... most bumper covers have ver few screws and many push pins. (NAPA or Honda will have the extra pins if you break any)

If you get another cover and it needs paint.... it will need a flex additive in the paint.

Repairs to those covers are done in a variety of ways and you might be able to repair and repaint your old ones with plastic epoxies.

Yep, that van should have almost all press-in plastic attachements. Maybe a srew or two holding the fender liners to the ends of the bumper. But maybe push pins there too. Just sliding them over the brackets on the bottom of the fenders is what gets a little tricky, but with a second person, that's easy too. Removing the headlamps (especially if they are held in with clips or just a couple easy to reach bolts) can be helpful.

Most major paint manufacturers (PPG, Sherwin Williams, DuPont, Spies Hecker) make their paint with flex additive in it. No need to add anything. Just ask the paint store.

Obviously, if you have the grey, textured bumper covers, no need to paint or do anything to them.

I advise that you take digital pictures, including close ups, before you start and as you are removing them. That way, at re-assmebly, you can refer to them, in case something isn't quite lining up.

Good luck.
