OK here is my thinking...please help me prior to making any mistakes. I am thinking about replacing my carpet in my 24ft toon. I know the right way to do it is to take all the fencing, seats and anything bolted to the floor. I don't normally like to do things half azz, but hear me out. Here are the steps in what I am wanting to do:
1) Cut all the old carpet out
2) scrap any glue from floor
3) install new carpet but instead of glue putting snaps on it
4) I wouldn't carpet under seats or any thing bolted, I would leave about a 1 inch gap, like they do in some speed and runabouts. Then use a high gloss paint for the gaps. I would also sew a trim piece around the whole carpet piece so it would look nice.
The reason for doing this isn't because its going to be easier but maybe look different and nicer, and give a new look and easy to clean and can be rolled up in the winter and put away. Any thoughts?
