replacing the floor for the 2nd time in six years.when i replaced the floor before i used 3/4" pressure treated, (mistake!).with 3/4" the side boxes were raised and didnt line up. what is the correct thickness..the original was in between 5/8" and 3/4".could not find anything between. what is the best wood to use ? i'm going to epoxy paint it with non-skid. thanks

Use 5/8 (which is actually 19/32 and use BCX. Do not use pressure treated, that is a bad move and while it has the right glue, its wet and you need dried wood

"X" means it's for exterior use. ACX FIR is really good stuff. Aruaco brand is some Really good stuff IF you can find it. When you do it again, this time Pre-Drill ALL the screw holes and then use a toothpick to inject some 3M 4200 sealant into the holes and also coat the threads of the screws with the sealant. You can use regular Deck Screws. The other important issue is to Seal the edges of the plywood. Water gets in the edges the easiest. I use a Home Made sealant for the edges consisting of 1 Part Mineral Spirits, 2 parts Boiled Linseed Oil, and one part Polyurethane Floor finish. Put 3-4 coats on the edges so it soaks in DEEP!!! Let dry for 2-3 days and then paint.

You can use this to paint your deck and ad some antiskid or sand to it...Paint Your Boat with Tractor Paint...Say What!!!
