I am about to replace the entire floor in my '79 Starcraft 18' Supersport. I have read the threads about the task on iBoats and I have some questions: I cannot get to rotdoctor is that still a valid website? Did any of you who have done this put in new carpet at the same time? Did you tack/glue the carpet to the deck before you put it down? <br />Thanks

Re: Replacing floorboards

Marko, I just replaced my entire floor, flotation, casting deck and pedestals on a 16' Sylvan. I riveted the flooring to the ribs right next to the gunwales and to the tall ribs on the floor. Also, I used a GOOD outdoor carpet adhesive, no tacks. I put the carpet on after installing the floor, hiding all the fasteners. Use old carpet for template, or big paper like for linoleum should work. Use all aluminum or stainless hardware. Also, for pedestals using a 1/8" aluminum plate as a backer for #14 sheet metal screws worked as well as the boat repairmen I talked to said it would. GOOD LUCK!!!
