I need to replace fuel line on my 1996 162 Scout boat. Can anyone advise if the outbound fuel line is attached to top or bottom of fuel tank. Does console have to be removed to replace this fuel line?

Howdy.

That's a center console, isn't it?

Is the tank above the deck under the console?

The fuel line to the motor is always on top of the tank and is usually routed through a chase or tube to the back. Securely tie some heavy twine to the hose and pull it it out. The twine is to pull the new hose through the chase. In fact, tie two lengths of twine and leave one in the chase to pull other stuff at a later time.

Replace fuel line on Scout boat.

I need to replace fuel line on my 1996 16’2” Scout boat from fuel tank to engine. Does center console have to Be removed to access fuel tank? Does this fuel line come out of top or bottom of tank?

all USCG approved fuel tanks have the fuel fitting on the top, and the line is connected to the anti-siphon valve.

cant answer your question on the console.
