replacing gauges

hi,<br /> thanx to the seems like millons of great responces i have recieved on my boat.so wth i though i was ask another question. i have a 86 model-115 evinrude v4 vro. what does vro stand for.ok now for the gauges. when im on the lake the rpm gauge doesnt work, the fuel gauge doesnt work, and the heat gauge doesnt work. im scared i might blow it up or get it to hot or hell might even run out of gas.is it hard to replace the gauges. and also will any gauges work. :eek:

Texas Angler,<br /><br />VRO stands for "variable ratio oiling". It means your engine has oil injection-you don't mix oil with the gas.<br /><br />Guages-are these OMC Guages? They woould be black with red lettering. If you need new ones, you can find OMC guages at surplus websites such as: www.surplusunlimited.com. <br /><br />Do you have a temp. guage or a water pressure guage? If it's water pressure, it does not need any electrical connections to work.<br /><br />The others are probably connections. Best thing to do is start at the guage and work backwards.
