replacing gimble bearing

my boat is a 1984 chaperral 23 foot with a 350 merc and merc out drive.<br /><br />There has been squeeking comming from the gimble housing which leads me to replacing the bearing.<br /><br />is it difficult to replace? <br />can I find directions in the net? <br /><br />Thanks for any help

Could also be the ujoints if they are bad. Pull the drive and turn the gimbal bearing, and move the ujoints. If you find water in the bellows, that is probably what caused the problem to begin with.
