125 force 1987 , do I lubricate the housing once I replace with new impeller and do I regrease the splines on the drive shaft before reinstalling. Or anything else I should do. I need the impeller and gaskets but am finding it hard to locate even on this website they only had thermostat. Does that also have to be replaced.

The driveshaft splines should be greased.<br />The end of the driveshaft should not be greased, or the shaft will not fully seat.<br /><br />"do I lubrucate the housing"<br /><br />The waterpump housing? You can lubricate it with dishsoap or a little grease to help with getting the impeller in. But I find this to be messy, and then its hard to work with greasey hands.<br />The waterpump is lubricated with water when in use.<br /><br />You can get the parts from any Mercury dealer.<br />impeller part # 47-803630T<br />a complete waterpump kit is #FK1069<br />gasket is #27-F523031<br /><br />Yes, a good idea to replace thermostat every few years.<br />thermostat gasket #27-828319<br />thermostat # F528068<br />thermostat grommet #25-F84504<br /><br />Aftermarket parts are available (NAPA)<br />thermostat # 18-3559<br />fuel pump rebuild kit # 18-7806

most force and mercury take the same impeller.make sure you turn the shaft clockwise when installing the impeller.dont turn the shaft the wrong direction.they are easy to install.buy a manual its a good tool to have.because your going to need one.
