Hi
Im gonna replace my manifoild gasket, and wondered if there should be a sealant on the gasket? Does anybody know the torque settings for the manifoild? Merc 140 181 cid 1986mod.
Regards
Affa
Hello
on the manifold gasket use no sealer. on the riser/elbow/mixer to manifold then use perfect seal.do not use silly cone
silly cone will leak and make you cry.
I am sitting here at 4:15 am with nothing else to do and I dont have my service manuals so no help on the torque. 30 to 35 ft pounds should do you though.the torque is not as critical as making sure all the surfaces are clean and oil free
good luck and keep posting
