I have a Simpson Lawrence Horizon 600 series in the process of replacing rode on the anchor chain. I have had a new 100' 3/8 anchor line around the house for years but I am unsure this line will be able pulled by the gypsy on the windlass. I tried to place the line in the gipsy and it seems to grip and pull it in but this is without a load. The rode that came off is a bigger diameter line. I looked at the manual online but I am not sure of the size of the gypsy to match the part number. I see that I need at least a 1/2" rode but there is one part number that do not list any size and uses the same measurements as the previous. Wanted to confirm that I need at least a 1/2"?

Ayuh,.... The smallest line listed is 1/2", so I'd go with that,....

The half inch double braid did not work. I had to get the 9/16 twisted or spend $200 for a new gypsy on an old out dated unit. Cheaper to buy the rode with the chain for $80 and send the 1/2 back to the Amazon. So convenient to be able to send stuff back that you buy online for free if it does not work!
