Could someone give me some advise on how to remove the lower unit? I removed the 4 bolts and can only get it to slide down about 1-1/2.<br />Also, should thier be a gasket where the lower unit mates with the upper leg?<br />Thanks for any advise.
Ya' gotta disconnect the shift rod nick. Look where the lower unit and midsection meet and you should see the shift rod link. Remove the upper bolt in the link and the lower unit should come off. There is no gasket between the lower unit and midsection.
