Hi Guys,
I would appreciate any advice re replacing a throttle cable on my 1988 Johnson 8 HP.
The cable goes to the tiller arm on this model, and the outer casing of the cable has fractured near where the tiller arm tilts.

Although I have removed the outer and inner rotating sections of the throttle and the pin that holds the cable to this, I am having great difficulty in working out how to undo the cable at the throttle attachment so that it can be removed and replaced with a new one.

It's probably something simple, but it's too complicated for my poor Aussie brain to work out. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The cable "sits" in the black plastic "inner" throttle arm (which is mounted into the alumimun tiller arm. Got that? Just use a small flat blade screwdriver and pry/snap out the cable from it's seat. The new cable "snaps" back into the inner sleeve! If you have a new cable to compare, it should be pretty obvious! Ggod luck!

Thanks P.V. I haven't yet taken delivery of the new cable, so can't compare, and wasn't game to try and pry at the cable in case I broke the plastic.
