Has anyone ever have to replace the hydraulic line inside the boat that runs from the pump to the outdrive plate. I guess it is right under the motor and really hard to get to.

The dealer is telling me the motor has to be pulled to do it. Not that i don't believe him, but can it be done? I am a small guy and like to save some money doing it myself...

thanks.

The engine does not necessarily have to come all of the way out, but it will need to have the mounts loosened & be moved foreward.....
Removal really is not that hard on a 3.0......
Only you can tell how much room you need to do it....
I recomend total removal for access.......;)

No you don't have to pull the engine. Disconnect the lines from the trim pump, and tie a string onto the ends of the hoses. Then outside the boat, remove the anode so you can access the block the hoses go to. Remove the bolts holding the manifold block onto the gimbal housing and drop it down and remove the lines.
