I'm new here. I have a 1960 yellowjacket 14' vhull it like a jon boat layout with 2 bench seats. I got it last spring noticed floor was soft and had crack near side. I was told this boat had no wood all fiberglass. I sanded the crack to find 3/4" gap between2 layers of fiberglass. So i cut top layer of glass out to find it had wood between glass skins. Not just rotted but desentagrated gone. Looks like hard wood floor was laid instead of ply. My questions r what's best way and cheapest way to fix. I'm a poor man...lol

thanks woodonglass! i don't see my type boat...everything i see for 1960 (i got yr from when i registered in all i had was hull number and it came back as 1960) are all wood. mine is fiberglass sides are thin fiberglass like a canoe molded same thickness all over even bottom. laid down wood small 3/4x4x6 inch blocks in a hard wood floor pattern then laid another layer of glass on top.

The best way is to open a Free PhotoBucket account upload your pics to it and then copy and paste the IMG Code directly into your iBoats post.

Not sure what that is ^^^ or where you copied it from, but you want to copy all the text in the IMG code box. It looks like this:

And the pix post nice and big IN my posts:

Uhhmmm, like I said, use the IMG Code (it's over on the right side of the pic) IMG Code. Click on it and it will turn yellow and say copied. Then return to your iBoats thread and Hold down the Ctrl Key and press V and it will past the pic code into your post. Like this...

Yup, you got it now!!! That's NOT the kind of Yellow Jacket I was thinking of!!! So the wood s 3/4" thick" or 1/4" thick? I'm thinking that's whats known as an endgrain balsa cored hull. If so, that's a PITA restoration. Here's a link that show's what's all involved. It's on a sailboat but the principle is the same.

Here's another...http://www.fiberglassics.com/fibergl...lacement-guide

and yet another...http://forums.iboats.com/forum/boat-...e-no-stringers

Some other members may come along that's familiar with this boat and be ale to give you some detailed advice. I've never seen one exactly like this before.
