Hello all, I have just repowered my boat from a 1976 Chrysler point and distributor style 125 horse , I put a 1987 force 125 in its place, I'm looking for a wiring diagram , the wires are different color codes and don't want to burn anything up , any help would be great, thanks , oh ya the new motor has a mag .

Re: Repower wiring problem

For 1987 the wires shopuld still be the same colors and should attach to the engine terminal block the same way. Since the ignition is self energising and the engine will start and run without any wires attached, the switch is different. Different only in that the blue and white wires are connected to the "M" terminals and the purple is used for tachometer signal. Tach must be a 20 pole tach; your original--if you have one--will not work.

Re: Repower wiring problem

Can you post a couple of photos of the wiring terminal at the engine, the ignition switch, and an overall shot of the engine itself? It would help to identify the year and wiring type.
