Repower with 125 mercury

Hey guys looking for some input.I can go up to 90hp on my boat but I got sweet deal on a 125 merc that I can pass up.Now let me say this(I use this boat for fishing only not out joy riding to see how fast my boat is.Im just to old for that so How about some input on the subject.

Go with a 90. A 125 might bring headaches you don't want.

Hate to be a party pooper, but in Louisiana, they can give you a ticket for a having a larger motor than the boat is rated for. And second, if you have your boat insured, having a larger motor than rated causes headaches there too.

I agree with both posts above. Do not overpower your boat? If the motor is such a great deal try to find a boat to put it on.

Thanks guys for the input.I still think Im going to roll with the 125.I dont think ill have a problem with the ticket thing because the on the lakes around my area they look for the speeders and Out of state people running wild on the lakesbut hey I have some time before spring is in the air.

i say go with the 125 bore it out , prop it up and let it rip ---but thats just me
