I currently have a volvo penta 431b with a dp-c outdrive on my boat. i am considering upgrading the engine. does anyone have any advice on what i can upgrade to?

Ayuh,... Without changing the gearing or props,...
Another 4.3l, post-1996 will get you the Vortec heads,...

Donno if it's got a 4bbl. carb or not,... That's good for another 15/ 20hp...
