Hey everyone, been a min since I was on here! Anyway my old motor took a crap and so I bought another used motor in my price range(1995 115ho evinrude) anyone know if it’s a plug an play model to the 1996? Both motors has the big red power plug. Only trouble is that the throttle stick is different then! Any help greatly appreciated. Also I have never swapped a motor so advice welcomed as well!

Remove one motor and install the other.-----No need to change controls.----Install new water pump impeller.----Change gear oil.-----Commision the oil injection system ??----Test the oil injection system.----Perform compression test and record numbers for future reference.

Thanks for the reply racer, so you think scrap the oil injection system all together?

There are many opinions on oil injection.----Up to you to verify that it is working .----Test warning system.----Test oil consumption.------Only you can decide what to do.----Have one of those motors apart for rebuild.----Owner neglected to commission oil injection and motor was destroyed with 4 scored pistons.

I love the idea of not having to premix so much since I’ve only known that, but unfortunately I do not know how to check the test warning system for oil consumption. Is it an easy modification to take it off?
