Not too sure what will need to be changed in the flywheel area. But it appears to be fresh water cooled, can just see a heat exchanger, so that must be a good thing.

Its a drop in swap bolt-wise but as far as the electronics, make sure you get the harness, sensors, and ecm. That part is gonna be a nightmare if you don't understand the new system. Other than that, hey I'd do it. Be fun and figuring out all the problems and how to pay the divorce attorney after the boat breaks down for the umpteenth time and the wifey finds herself a dude with a carbed/points boat (Oh the irony!) I am sure you'll get it all ironed out and a newer model lady friend.

Not a Volvo expert but I'm pretty sure there both 5.7L. With that it should be plug and play if you get everything. The engine computer is contained within the engine harness and you shouldn't have to change much . The one thing I did see which would make me hesitate is the carp cap on the distributer. Those distributers have been nothing but problems. They do work, but when the engine acts up the first thing to change is the cap. Good luck and make sure to keep us posted

Let me also add, if these are salt water engines, they may have way more problems then can be seen. Normally 500 hours is mid like if taken case of, but could also be toast if not
