Repowering omc to mercruiser

Hi everyone, new to the site and have been looking for information on a repowering I am trying to do. I have a 1977 starcraft 18'ss and am looking to pupp the omc stringer drive and put in a mercruiser one. Trying to figure out x demension so I can have the aluminum plate welded up. Just wondering if anyone has the same style boat with a mercruiser drive installed from the factory? If so I would be really interested in some measurements. Thanks.

in addition to welding up the transom, making a new structural transom, you need to modify the stringers,etc.
