I am repowering my 1979 Century with a new vortec longblock and am looking for some advice on an intake manifold. I am in fresh water lakes in Pennsylvania and cool with raw water.
also, I have a Rochester quadrajet and a newer Weber (1995 Merc 350 Alpha) 4 barrel.
any suggestions on which carb to use?

thanks

Use the q-jet , far better carb, better fuel metering, triple boost venturies, will give you better idle and low speed throttle response and better fuel milage. Edelbrock manifold is as good as any.

The Edelbrock 1409 worked great for me right out of the box.......only needed to tune the idle mixture.

Try them both, the Edelbrock performer will accept either one , then judge for yourself. The q-jet will always get better fuel milage.
