The time as come to start on the floor of my Jet, however it did not have a floor in it to trace when I acquired it. I've looked at a lot of Jet rebuilds, and although detailed, they didn't have much in terms of how many sheets of ply were required. I did measure and it looks as if I may need three sheets, two of which cut and laid in 4' sections. Am I correct? Any pictures and or advice would be great !

Lakelover, did your Jet have the raised floor, or did it lay right on top of the ribs? Mine is raised with the single stringer down the middle.

I was planning on laying the three sheets width wise so they would 4' in length and not 8'.

What did everyone else do with their raised floor?

My floor follows the curve of the hull, the plywood is fastened directly to the "ribs" with rivets. It just has a thin aluminum strip that runs along the center for added support where the two sheets come together. You can see it in this picture:

Start reading at #713 on my Jet thread. I tried to be quite detailed, check it out. It goes on for a while as measurements were from scratch and I made the bow casting deck one with the main deck.

Cheers!:)

Go to the post and right click on the post # in the upper right & click "Copy Link Location" or whatever your browser says for that; then insert the url. I wondered for a long time how to do that!
