I'm thinking about getting together with a couple of buddies of mine this January to attend the North American International Auto show. What I need help with is locating a suburb outside of Detriot that is not too creepy for a bunch of skinny white-boys like my friends and I. We don't need to be right on top of the convention center, but don't want to be >30 miles away from it.

Anyone help out? Names of towns would be great!

Sean

go across the bridge (or tunnel) into Windsor Canada and stay there. Immediate access to down town Detroit. Better book early.

PJ has a good idea... the casino's help keep the rates down too. You still might need the loan though.... for the casinos that is..... :D

I'm originally from Windsor, Ontario.
Go over the Ambassador Bridge(from Detroit to Windsor) and go straight down Huron Church Road. There are many hotels on that stretch that are good to stay at.
If you need anymore info on Windsor and where to stay at, just email me.
Brother Chris...

Thanks for the feedback guys. It looks like I can get a room for both nights for around $200. Which is not bad when divided amongst 3 people.

Sean

Sorry to post this so long after your intial post but here goes. Windsor is a great place to stay and the exchange helps, but fair warning the border during the time period of the autoshow will be a long wait, security issues and general traffic. What else, if anything, do you plan to do while here? This will help narrow your choices if you haven't already decided. One suggestion, if you have the time check out the Henry Ford Museum at Greenfield Village. If there is anything I can help withshoot me an email: dstaylor6 @ hotmail.com. In any event I hope you enjoy your stay.
