Hey, I have a 1971 Johnson evinrude 2 stroke 40hp. I had it running but the little clamp that holds the throttle bar broke off and I don’t know how to find a replacement. Really trying to learn so figured I’d ask for help here. I love your restoration!

The collar is part #304222. Screw is 304221. New collar will run you about $17. Better off finding a used one on an auction site.

It is an important part.-----Should be easy to find as it was used for many , many ( 50 ) years.----Or depending on your ingenuity make one using a piece of a brass bolt .----Drill and tap and you are done.----Easy to make parts for older motor.-----Much easier than new motors !!
