Need steps to fiberglass over old fiberglass in the foot of my 19 ft sailboat. the glass was painted over with white paint or gelcoat? It is flaking off. The fibers over the bulkheads is popping off as well. What steps and what materials to use? I sand first with 36 or 60 grit, then clean with actone or Styrene, then what resin to use? epoxy vs polyester? What fiberglass to use? there are so many choices, the heavy stuff vs chop strand or combination? I read that you don't have to wait for this stuff to dry to add layers. When it dries, can I paint it with gelcoat wax?
