Restoring a 22 year old finish

I thought I would attach a photo to prove that old gelcoat CAN be brought back with some work. I sanded the hull with 220 to knock down the old pinstriping ridges, followed with 400 and 1000. This is an in progress photo after hitting it with rubbing compound and a buffer. A lot of work, but the finish is surprising. I also had to strip the swim platform of some spray paint an old owner put on, and the gel is in great shape under it.

I will say my arms are tired!​
