Hope this makes sense. Anyone out there done this before thanks Terry

Re: restoring a boat metal flake paint job

Hopefully you're aware of the difference between metalflake gel-coat and paint...

There are several options on how you paint flakes. Depends on the effect and the grain size you're looking for. Go to somewhere like House of Kolor and they will have everything you need, along with datasheets. Here's the datasheet for the House of Kolor flakes:

Don't know much about application but I do know that my buddy contacted house of kolor and they sent samples (decent size samples). With a couple buddies help.....:D The grain size has a lot to do with how you can apply it. I believe the info he got with the samples said it could be mixed with the paint and sprayed. (I may be wrong, but I think I remember that was how he was going to do it).

Good Luck with it.
