Your # 10,0034 that has done that... Do a search. Several people have "Fished" out the retaining ring with wire or something. Wish I could tell ya how, but those stickers were there for a reason.....

I cant believe the retainer was not held in place by a slot or something. If I plug the screw hole and try to flush it out, but where? or plug the hole and just leave it in .......Or what

Take the drive off and tilt/move it around until it falls out and replace the plug.

Re: retainer fell off and intodrive unit

Not saying this is the correct thing to do, but I just left it in there. I assume it won't hurt any of the drive components because it is in a water passage not an oil passage. Worst case senario, it might make it up to the water pump, and I still don't thing it will hurt anything. As far as the plug is concerned, you can go about it one of two ways. I've seen guys just glue it back in with Epoxy and seal around it with RTV. I personally tapped some threads in the hole and put a new threaded plug back in. I also sealed over it with what we in Aviation call "Proseal". Just use some resilliant sealant of some sort.
