I have a shorelander trailer for my chapparel ss190 the electric override for reverse started to act up it would only work once in a while so I hads to use the hitch key .when I plug the boat into the truck it reversed my signal lights, thenwhen turned the ignition key off my tail mlights stayed on then the ground wire from the plug to the trailer started to melt .It was working perfect at the start of the season.and my truck works fine with all other equipment. Any suggestions??

Re: reverse electric override

What kind of vehicle are you hooking up to? I happened to be at Shoreland'r manufacturer today since I'm looking to upgrade from my lower capacity EZ Loader and he mentioned some European vehicles have issues with the reverse signal if not already equipped with the 5 pin harness. Volks Toureg comes to mind.

Re: reverse electric override

The back-up solenoid is shorted internally. Replace it and you should be good to go
