Reversed battery cable..... now no spark??

I did the most foolish thing any boater can do. Yup, I reversed the +/- battery cable by accident. Now i have no spark ???

I have a 70's 115 hp mercury outboard 6cyl inline (cd) ignition

does anyone have any idea if its the coil that goes to the middle of the dist. with key on theres power to that coil

please help??????

Thats not a coil it's a transformer iy gets AC voltage from the switch box, which you probable burned out along with the rectifier when you hooked the system up backwards, heres the CDI test for the ign. system.

Did the same thing on a 74 150...long ago, when the switchboxes were a little cheaper. And yep, its what you fried. Get a new one...

thank you both of you guys for your time. i think im going to replace the switch box first . how easy is the rectifier to replace?? i have moderate mechanical skill. i know a little bit of a little bit

Rectifier is even easier than the switch box.
