okay guys i got a 1988 bass tracker and the other day one of my wires grounded someweres and melted about 3 wires to bare metal one of them going all the way to the front. I ordered a whole new wiring harness and i was wondering which way would be the easiest way to do it? ive heard pull the wires threw but there all melted and i was going to just take the whole deck off and do it that way. any suggestions would greatly appreciated thanks

The usual way would be to attach the new harness to the old, front to back or vice versa, and use the old to pull the new into place. Alternately, use the old to pull a strong cord through the hull, then use the cord to pull the new one through.

Depending on the boat, the wiring can get confusing real quick......Dont know the model of your boat but if it has a helm the bow lights will come from under helm.

The wire from battery to trolling motor should be a straight run......If you got the OEM harness for your boat everything should be plug and play....

If I were you I would take the time to take some pictures of the wiring connections under the helm, your not going to have the ability to unplug one wire at a time.
