Rh turn signal not working

At first my f150 told me my RH lights were out. Come to find out it's only the turn signal. I have LED lights on the trailer and the same "lights" within the unit light up for brakes and tail lights but not for turn signal. But if I remove the light I can read 12v when signal on (in a flashing fashion) right at where the wire and wire crimps are inside the light. Is it fair to assume the whole light is put and something can't be fixed here?

did your truck come with LED lights, or did you add LED lights.

is this a factory installed trailer wiring, or aftermarket?

I ran into similar issues two weeks on both the horse and boat trailer.

Intermittent turn signal and trailer disconnected warnings. Voltmeter showed power at connectIons. Jumping up and down on newly installed hitch temporarily resolved issue until you unhitched and hitched up again. Had to be a grounding issue.

Turns out truck is looking at voltage returns from the various components for feedback. With this bit of information, I took ohm readings from connector (trailer side) to trailer ground on trailer.

Almost 2 ohms.....Ideally should be 0.0 ohms.

Removed and cleaned the ground connection on trailer. Got it down to under 0.2 ohms and everything functions and alarms as it should.

some LED tail lights need ballast resistors to add feedback.

i know adding LED lights to a late model vehicle with a BCM that doesnt have LED's from the factory often causes headaches

This is from a 2018 F150 but either way I've seen these lights sold somewhere and nany are pretty standard to include the special resistors to just plug and play (in the light).

hmm. I'll double check a good ground. Maybe even troubleshoot by switching LH and RH light....oh well. If I do buy one it's $30 but sucks it's only 1 function not whole light out.
