obviously there was a little lead in the fuel back then, but not much! I think that engine called for 86 octane so your standard 87 pump gas will do just fine! Id tell you to check alcohol levels, but most of the fuel in your area will most likly be the same so why worry? If you want to worry you can ask the owner of the station what percentage alcohol is in his fuel and use the least amount found! No advantage in performance to use anything with higher octane, just more carbon buildup!<br /><br />Might think of using a quality synthetic 2 cycle oil like amsoil!
