I have a Bayliner 185 2007 with the Mercruiser 4.3 litre the drive is Alpha 21.81 Ratio D Drive 1.8
I cannot read the propeller part number stamped on the prop except for the last part which is A45P23Mercury. I am assuming that it is a 23 pitch it is alloy and I believe a standard prop, I want to reduce the pitch for better acceleration for Water skiing and towing for young and old, at the moment it takes along time to pull people out, would a 19 inch be acceptable and is it ok to use?
I would appreciate any suggestions I do want to go to a stainless prop also

Thank you in advance for your assistance

Hi There , have you tried calling the guys from Solas in QLD they should be able to assist you with qetting you the right application. remember when you go down in pitch you increase RPM but may not increase speed

Re: Right Propeller for right application

What is your current RPM at WOT??? Are you at the low end of the recommended range?? If so, then you can go down in pitch to a 21 for a drop of around 200rpm, a 19pitch may put you in a situation where you are over-revving the engine. A 21pitch 4 blade prop may be your best bet, the hole shot with a 4 blade is MUCH better.
