Hello again mariners...<br /><br />Odd thing happened on this first run on a 1984 19' Four Winns Mercruiser 305 Chevy. Situation...running WOT and trimmed out. When I shut her down I trimmed nearly all the way down and throttled back quickly.....As soon as I throttled back the boat hooked to the right...enough to spook me a little....quite abrupt.<br /><br />Don't see any reason for this when on the trailer...anyone ever had this happen ??...It does it every time nearly under the same circumstances. Had a water leak to fix so I wasn't out long...going to try it again tomorrow. <br /><br />Any clues??

How does your trim tab look? Do you have a stabalizer mounted to the anti ventilation plate?<br />Is it possible that that steering wheel is misaligned? Were you in rough water?

if you will read the bold print warnings in the owners manual it will tell you about abrupt speeds canges and bow steer and trim settings.,by the time you trim all the way in at speed your plowing. when power is removed from the transom the bow now steers the hull.its dangerous and always operator error. I have seen boats flipped and operators ejected due to incompetent helmsmen and helmsmen that failed to read and heed the bold print warnings. dont become one. we need people around to post :) ansd avoid rapid shutdowns if possible. not only does it create excessive wear problems due to clucth dog racheting it leads to water intrusion in the manifolds.
