Ring Free with Stabilizer?

I'm not at home to verify what fuel stabilizer I'm using other then I know it's a Yamaha product and I add the amount to the fuel when I fill up recommended for usage, not storage. (I try not to go over a month with out taking the boat out)
Read about ringfree and wondering if I should be adding that as well?
Don't want to get carried away and add more additives then I should be.
Appreciate the input.

ring free is a good thing and will mix with the stabilizer. its a version of the chevron patented Techrolene.
helps aid in keeping carbon deposits down while cleaning the fuel system and intake track.
also aids in helping todays poor storing gasolines and low detergent levels of regular unleaded.

So if the Yamaha Ringfree is like the chevron patented Techrolene, could you just run Regular 87 Chevron gas and not need to run the Yamaha Ringfree?

beats me, last I looked the high detergent stuff was only in the premium grade fuels that are not reccomended to run in your engine.
wanna guess how much I run in my F150 or my E-TEC 175 ?

At $41 a qt I'm thinking about cutting back from the 2/10 recommended to 2/20, or maybe treat every other fill-up.
The yamaha factory rep told me I needed to use it as recommended if for nothing else but to protect the extra warranty they gave me after my F150 took a crap 15 hours out of the box. He also recommended that I let the service center do all the maintenance, but at the price they get that may not be something I can honor. Just an oil change is $200.

ring free is not a requirement for warrenty nor is dealership maint, just keep a log of the maint and make sure any lubricants,oils and filters meet yamaha standards and your home free.
why did the powerhead require replacement at 15 hours ?
and was it done in wanchese ?

You're completely right and under the circumstances I let them do the 20 inspection. I'll do all I can do from here on.
I take things a little too far sometimes but I keep a hull and motor log just the same as I kept an airframe and power plant log for my airplane. Not mandatory, of course, just habit.
The bearings in the balance unit failed. It chewed up that composite gear and sent it through the motor. They said it coded low oil pressure early in time but I never herd an alarm. When it quit with an alarm it coded no oil pressure. It would start and idol after cooling for a while so I took it back to the ramp under an idol. It locked up and quit a few times during the three hours it took to get back. :redface:
Not wanchese (?). I'm in the southeastern, US.
Is ringfree worth the money? Or is it snake oil?

You don't even say what engine you have....ringfree is a must for HPDI's if you have sense...I don't really see any point in it for Four Strokes...if you use Yamalube 4-M, that is. Two-Strokes need a once or twice a year shock treatment and good to go...'cept HPDI, which needs to be run on ringfree.

I think I stated a few times it was an F150. F150TXR four stroke to be exact.
I had a feeling that ringfree was more a dealer cash flow item than for motor good health. The factory tech had a good sales pitch for the stuff and I know people that have known this man a long time and speak highly of him so I have faith in what he says but, he's a company man also. My stand on it is if it will help me get 20 years and 1500 trouble free hours out of this motor, it's worth the money. I've read a lot on it and if it is in fact replacing what was taken out of our fuel to cheapen it up then it's good insurance. What I will say about it is it sure made my pressure washer and lawn tractor start and run so much better.
