Rinker 226 XL

I posted a few questions recently about what to change my Bowrider for .... and while the ideal choice would seem be a Chaparral 216 ssi, simply can't afford one new ... and none seem to be on market here, but still looking.

I have found a 1 yr old Rinker 226 XL ... with 5.0L Volvo + sx drive.

What is the considered opinion about this boat ? ........ overall length is 3' longer than my current Maxum 1800 SR3, and it gains almost a foot in beam.
With the L shaped seating,and bow forward design (XL = extra long cockpit) it should feel a big enough boat for me.

Be interested in feedback.


A second Q ... it does not have a Tower fitted which would be a necessary add-on, can you buy the Maxum R1 Tower as an after market purchase ? ... it is a sweet looking Tower, compliments the boat ....or would I have to buy an independant.

Can't answer your tower question but I cna tell you that Rinkers are pretty good boats just not a really huge company, they are one of the very few family owned companies left.

They are made about 10 miles from where I live so there are a ton of them around here and alot of old ones too which means they last, I would not have any problem at all getting one.
