Are you trimming the drive all the way in during take off?
From these pics it appears the drive is trimmed out some

for the hole shot on any boat. drive in fully. Agree with AD, looks like your not using the trim as required.

5.0 is not much engine for a 26 foot boat, but like the others have said, it will need full trim ' in ' to even have a chance of getting on plane in a reasonable time frame.

The Rinker 260 is a seven thousand pound express cruiser. I can't imagine what it weighs wet. Possibly the worst example of an underpowered boat I've come across in a while. You need more HP and TQ. I think you are beyond swapping props or tabs or anything to get any sort of respectable performance out of that boat. I know there are bolt on superchargers for the 5.seven (my seven button is broken) but shy of a repower, I might try a bolt on forced induction.

Hi guys - thanks for reply. The drive is trimed down. All the way :) No on the video im not using flaps, just to show the problem. ( Im only me 120lbs ) in the boat on the video and 1/4 fuel tank and empty water tank. If I use the flaps it gets better, but with 3-4 people in the boat it can't get up. Im thinking it needs more TQ and HP like he said....

Rinker only offered a 320 HP motor as max. What is your WOT rpm ?

try going down 1 or 2 pitch props for better hole shots. a 21"pitch would also raise the wot about 200rpms, now is that with dash tachometer? it could be off too. but if you do alloy of tow sports you could go down to a 19" pitch then have to watch your top end wot rpms. there is the prop wizard that you put in the info and it will get you in the ballpark for props to choose. I have a 2005 captiva 300mpi and I'm using a Ron Hill Signature 5 blade 19" and it's great for what we do, skiing, kneeboarding, wakeboarding and mostly tubing and still has some good top end speed with a full boat, 10 people..

That's a lot of boat to move with a 5.0.

That rpm and turning a 22 now doesn't give you much room. Going to a 20 or a cupped 20 will increase the hole shot but you need more HP. Dropping the pitch will raise the cruise rpm, but is manageable. Other then a new motor, I think your stuck.

Don't know what Rinker even offers the boat with a 5.0, my (7.4) Rinker cuddy is also offered with a 5.7 and have seen many at my lake. Everyone of those guys with the 5.7 all say the same, it has a hard time getting out of the hole.

That's twins or big block territory. I wouldn't buy my current boat without a 5.7 and it weighs 3000lbs less dry. Generally everyone gets the 5.0 on so many boats I can't believe it...even larger boats. I would really say a 7000lb boat with the engine that lots of 18 and 19 foot boats get is almost unconscionable if one was to get a little dramatic about it. Go to the Sea Ray forums on other sites for example and the underpowered Sundeck and other models with the 5.0 is almost an epidemic. Lots of those boats get bought for a song after they sit on the dealer lot for a long time. I suppose it's like the people that are satisfied with a 3.0 in their 19 foot boat. Low expectations and are just happy to be out on the water and performance is and afterthought and very expensive to remedy.
