Well this is my chev 350 manifold its a (marine power 0999-772)
the gasket is from mounting kit sierra 18-8510

They are not a match in the middle areas.
Have also tried a mallory 9-40972 gasket not much better

My marine dealer said they should work but not the way i see what you think.

With the heat exchanger i have lost the end cap can i use a plug from a pluming type store
if so what do i ask for

Perhaps it would be a good idea if you told everyone what engine you have instead of just Chevy 350.

from the pic, it looks like an aftermarket heat exchanger as the surge tank area looks small - it looks like a San-Juan unit. without the engine information as Don mentioned, its hard to answer. all shell and tube heat exchangers are just glorified plumbing products and a few specialty castings. if it was a plug in the end, yes, it is just a brass plug.

that is a half system, so the HX discharge goes into the bottom of the manifolds. back to your gaskets, get the gaskets that match your manifolds and risers. if they are stock (mercruiser, VP, etc.) or aftermarket, Osco, etc.

based on the pic, i would guess Osco manifolds

Re: riser gasket miss match with pics and heat exchanger question

Thanks for the help guys.... My risers say barr marine vo-20-855384.
the manifolds are marine power 0999-772. Everthing says to use the gaskets I have. But they dont look like the holes line up on the manifolds yet look good on the riser

I am new to this so forgive me

I am simply matching the pic of your manifold in the picture to the gasket that matches the ports. obviously you are not looking at your manifold and the gasket pic and matching them up. the riser and gasket you have shown in the thumbnail do not match the manifold you have in the pic, and that is a problem

Re: riser gasket miss match with pics and heat exchanger question

I think I am following you the gasket isnt working for the manifold.(agreed) But but all the cross referances say it should.

Lets put it this way if you had a marine power (0999-772 manifold) what riser and gasket would you use
Thanks
