risers&manifolds

I need to replace cracked manifold on 1985 merc 260 V-8. I guess I should do both, should I do it myself or pay someone?

If you are mechanically inclined you should be able to do this, it's a pretty straightforward job. I suggest replacing the risers too.

i did mine 1985 260 mercruiser. problems you can encounter corroded bolts/stripped heads.but if you have dremel with pencil attachment for tight<br />places just cut the heads off and the rest of the bolt should turn out with your thumb

Should be a relatively easy job. Do it yourself + save some ca$h....If you have the room + the tools.....It should not be a problem....Do both the manifolds + risers.....If one side is bad the other is probably not far behind....BTW, welcome to the forum at iboats :) ....JK

anyone have photos of what good ones will look like? If I pull mine off how will I know if they can be reused(new gaskets of course)
