risers..which one?

5.0 MPI, 260 Hp engine...S/N..0m624941 ..Ive seen different ones but cant seem to pinpoint the correct one..would my SN fall in the OM600000 through OW599999? If I replace them should I do the gaskets also?? What are DRY joint and wet joint? Can I inspect the riser by unscrewing one of the plugs?

If there 5 years or more ,replace them.
You should have the 4 inch center rise.
no, they cannot be inspected.
If you remove something that used a gasket, then you replace that gasket.

Ayuh,.....

You can Inspect the Riser by removing the 4 Bolts that hold them to the Manifolds,+ Taking them Off.....

yup..They are now 5 yrs old..maybe this will fix my overheat problem...I typed the wrong question before..I know I have to replace any gaskets..I meant should I replace the spacers in there also?

I Pulled off the risers and spacers..they looked alittle rusty and not too bad as far as I can tell..But Ive never seen a bad one so Im not sure..There was a decent amount of rust around the hole in the spacer where the gasket with the tiny hole is..But nothing looked blocked...Now..how do I get all the gasket stuff off the risers and spacers?? what removes it? Now that they are off im leaning toward replacing them..should i do spacers too?

OK..Figured so..But are they considered warm or cold? By the serial # it would appear they are warm. Also..One more question..Parts say MCM or MIE. Whats the difference

Ayuh,......

I believe the MCM is dressed for an Outdrive,....
And,...
The MIE is dressed for an Inboard application........
