River boat cruise

Anyone ever been on one of these. Somehow I got a maillng list for a cruise line that uses paddle boats. They go up and down most major rivers, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, etc. It looks enticing. I've only been on Royal Caribbean though.
Can anyone out there give me a comparision?

Louisville,KY is the home port for the Belle of Louisville. The Belle is a day cruiser only. A stern paddlewheeler that includes a "three hour tour". The only problem is all those years you have to spend on that island.

Got to say I've never been on a river boat, but have shared the Ohio river with them. I would think that a river cruise would be very entertaining as there is so much scenery to see vs nothing but water everywhere. But then there are the skirts on the big ocean liners

I personally have not, but where I keep my boat is a stop for a river barge. I belive the name of the company is called river barge excursions. I have talk to several of the passagers and they have all enjoyed it.

I'm sure they're are more companies out there, but this is the one that sends me the brochure.

I hoping someone out there has done this and one of the liner cruises to get a comparision.

I did a day cruise on the Tennessee River in Chattanooga once. It was nice.
