The RC was huge in my area (Michigan) in the 80's. They must have had a helluva dealer network around here. Haven't seen one in 25 years. Boat companies come and boat companies go.

Edit: Evidently, they were still made in 1999. http://stcloud.craigslist.org/boa/2053853765.html

Best of luck with your project.

alright computer back up,
yes russell i love those toons too compared to the others, i wonder if it causes more drag or helps it, the one bad thing about them though is mounting a fish finder, you have too mount the transducer elsewhere,
Merry Christmas everyone

Yea thats true, But I did mount my fish finder at the bottom side of the transom base an it work good, But not when the motor is running an moven fast on the lake,, An can always have a bracket weild for em,, I did drill a hole in the floor one time an about 3/4 an put a pipe thru it with the fish finder an a pump for my live well an had it so I could ajust it for when I running the pontoon I would pull it up so it would stay up,, It was just something that I did try an work good,, There is just a lot of ways to do them on a pontoon,, An ya got to worry about what kind of trailer ya have too,, The bunk trailers are the best cause I put me a walkboard under the front an slide it out when I was an the bank of the lake an made it a lot easyer for my wife to get in an out of the boat, But can't do that with a scissor jack trailer unless ya build the sides of the trailer up so ya have room for the board,

An also with the cones in the back,, I feel they really help an when ya got to paddle from the back it really seems to be a lot easyer, lol, I did it when I was doing a lil bass fishing an didn't have a trolling motor at the time,, But if there is any reason for the cones on the back other the for the looks then I really don't know, But the 1990 RC 32 ft'er fun deck I has was a great pontoon an wish I still had it,lol, Even had a 1996 Merc Black Max 200hp,, An the toons was add'ed to the back about 6ft an had a 4 X 8 deck on there,,

The cones on the back will reduce drag but not by a significant amount.

Lol, Wow, Thats news for me cause I never seen a transom that cranks up an down, Mine is just solid, I did see a home made job like you talking about, Mine is just a regurler transom that bolts to the cross fram with 6 bolts then where the motor bolts up is wood an a alum plate on the inside,, Just never seen what you are talking about,, An my 75hp Merc has t/t
