Re: Rochester Quadrajet Substitute
I went through the same thing last couple of seasons. My quadrajet was a piece of quadrajunk.

It had been rebuilt, adjusted, rebuilt professionally, readjusted, new parts not contained in the kit, and it still didn't perform as it should have.

I finally purchased a brand new Holley. It was their substitute for the quadrajet. Installation was just as simple a putting on the quadrajet. No modifications and it only required minor adjustment.

The only problem that I didn't see ahead was the size fitting for the fuel line to the float bowl. Took the fitting to NAPA and they had the exact fitting needed for my application.

After the installation, my boat runs smoother, is easier starting, no more stalling after start up, better efficiency and better acceleration.

I just wished I had bought it before I went through all the hipe about "Quadrajets are die hard rebuildable carbs" fix it syndrome. IMHO, when a quadrajet is worn out, it is worn out, can it and get a replacement. Your brand of carb after that is the owners prefrence.

Good Luck
