I just purchased a 2000 model 21 ft Carolina Skiff and am looking for ideas for mounting rod holder for transporting rods. Cannot mount them to the sides w/o drilling through the hull and do not want to do that and not enough room on the center console. Any suggestions? jamiecrab@houston.rr.com

I would look at mounting, with a good marine adhesive, a wooden or starboard panel. You can them mount your rod holder to it. It can be big enough to mount any additional accessories you may want to add, such as life bouys or boat poles, hooka for dock lines, washdown hose, etc. And as fancy as you like, teak, walnut?.

The guys around here glass wood where needed and screw into that although there is nothing wrong with thru bolting but I would hate to do it too.

They even glass wood to the floor so the tower can be screwed to that without putting a hole in the floor. After the wood is positioned and glassed in you dont even notice it.

Good luck!
