I have a 2012 Crestliner Fishhawk 1650.(please be patient, i do not know all of the correct language).I am trying to equip it with rod holders for trolling.I have bought scotty rod holders, one mounting plate, three rod holders per plate.I mounted the side opposite the steering cables ect. very easily, everything was easily accessible. However, the other side i am having trouble figuring out. When i removed the sidewall that covers the steering cables it was pretty compact with all the cables, also ,unlike the other side the gunnell(sp) was solid and not channelled.I am not sure if just screwing the base down with out nuts and bolts and extra support is such a good idea, especially for trolling. If any of you guys have any suggestions i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks Mike

We love pics, twopugs!
There are lots of options for installing rod holders and I'd bet $ there's a solution available for you. If we can see what you're trying to do and where you want to mount them, I'm sure we can be of more assistance.

It also depends on how heavy your trolling gear is. Dragging planing boards and cannon balls for foot long mojo's requires substantial mounting, v. a small stretch on 15# line.

I will try to get some pics, have to leave for work shortly,am planning o npulling like 2 oz. in line weight with a harness or a spoon with a i nline planer board for walleye, so does this require alot of extra support? On the side i already have mounted i did ad a little support, but not much.I cvan ad more if need be. Thanks again
